Zane's Law Discussed on Channel News 13 in Orlando

Hello All!

We've been a bit quiet online over here lately. But we haven't been sitting on our hands! In fact, it's quite the opposite. I haven't updated the group here yet on any results of our trip to Tallahassee for the first week of the legislative session. We joined forces with Florida Voices for Health, whose ultimate goal is Medicaid Expansion. I've hitched on to their wagon for Medicaid reform for adult hospice patients.

You may recall the injustice I felt Zane received in terms of his medical care while he was in hospice. I preface this by saying his hospice team at Vitas were stellar, top-notch and I couldn't have asked for more caring individuals looking after my baby with me.

But getting him "well care" visits...anything outside of "comfort care" was another story. Here's a segment of my interview with Ybeth Bruzual at Spectrum New Channel 13 when we were in Tallahassee Fl that explains our plight in more detail. Watch the video below.

This week closes the legislative session and Florida Voices for Health made strides on their goals and met with many politicians, ones that can help make the difference we need to improve healthcare access.
