The Hack Job

Hello everyone. So, if you're just catching up, it's been a full week of straight up crap. Sunday night and into Monday, I was an ongoing, active victim of identity theft. It all kicked off with a text message Sunday evening from my carrier (ATT) that my request to transfer my number to a new service provider was in process. I tried to circumvent by ringing ATT, but it was too late. My number had been ported to Cricket wireless and the hacker took over from there. (Call your carriers...LOCK YOUR PHONE NUMBER).

Once gaining access to my number and then locking me out of my email, my hacker was able to reset passwords and change logins at my banks and drained the account we keep for Zane's donations for his care. Unbelievable! He tried other accounts and ordered new cards, but I was able to stop some of all that nonsense. All day Monday, my hacker and I were battling each other. I'd set things right and change things and he'd come right up behind me and set chaos to it all. Even the fraud departments couldn't keep up. And with no access to my phone or email, I was fighting blind with my hands tied behind my back. This guy even took over my Facebook and posted to apologize for the trouble and texted some of my friends to tell them how I can get my phone number back. What a creep. Truly a nightmare.

I had to make a police report, freeze my credit, alert the IRS/Social Security, put an alert at the FTC, contact all my creditors, and work out gaining access to my phone, emails and social media back. Exhausting. And while the money was on a steady, outgoing stream, the stress was through the roof. Thanks to my friends who came over to keep my head from exploding right off my neck.

I now have things mostly pieced back together. I'm back in control of my phone number, emails and bank accounts are either worked out or still locked down. The bank account that was drained is still a sticky mess, but we've managed to work it out to the penny what went where, so I'm just waiting for the investigation to be complete and things should get returned as they were.

Who steals from a critically ill cancer kid? Only the lowest scum in my opinion. I hope he enjoys his $3K Parisian sporting goods and the other thousands of dollars of European shit. Too bad for him his Key Bank and Western Union wire transfers were denied. I have an address in Canada if anyone wants to drop this criminal a line...

Meanwhile, Zane is doing great. Still showing us he wants to keep fighting. Our champ! #MakeZaneBetter

So, everyone have a great Halloween weekend. We will just be chilling, Had enough of the sinister and creepy this week to fill a pitcher!
